What our customers are saying about:

Dr. Shobha Venkat

We are very happy that we consulted Dr. Shobha Venkat and we are here with a baby boy. She was very helpful and friendly during my pregnancy. Whatever doubt I had she used to clear it in a friendly manner. So I am very happy with her.

We have been consulting with Dr. Shobha Venkat for the last 3 years. Our first baby was also delivered by her and for the second baby, we have been consulting her from day 1. She is very supportive and we feel very comfortable with her whenever we discuss anything she explains it very nicely. There was no doubt of reaching out to somebody else for a second baby and we were very relaxed that if she is taking care of a baby then everything will go smoothly. Our baby got delivered on Saturday morning and we are very happy.

Dr. Shobha Venkat has guided us from the beginning whenever we faced any hurdles during her pregnancy she substantially came. there are some people when you meet them whatever tension you have just goes away. We feel the same with Dr. Shobha Venkat we will forever be grateful to her. The experience has been wonderful and I have never met such a calm doctor in my life. We are blessed with a daughter on the 1st of January. Thank you so much Cloudnine.

We delivered a baby boy on 25th January under the guidance of Dr. Shobha Venkat. I think for me the overall experience with Cloudnine has been really amazing. She is not just friendly she is also an individual who talks straight forward. The best part is she does not force you to do anything. I remember going to her the first time and she said you need to eat healthily and follow healthy habits. How much to eat is up to you and that is what I liked about her and throughout every time I went into the room she always welcomes me with a smiling face. Overall I didn't have a fear of talking to a gynecologist and it was an amazing experience. I am so happy and glad that I had a normal delivery and throughout my labor, she was absolutely amazing person to be with. Thank you Cloudnine

Nikita and Jyotir share their blissful experience during their overall pregnancy and rates Cloudnine #1. They thank Dr. Shobha Venkat for her guidance and definitely plan on returning to Cloudnine for their second delivery."

Does one need to gain extra weight if pregnant with multiples? Dr. Shobha Venkat
"In general the weight gain will be little minimal or sometimes it may be even there may weight loss in the first trimester because of the excess vomiting and the less intake of the food. But subsequently what happens is there will be a good weight gain, roughly about 2 kgs every month or half kg per week This is the standard weight gain for singleton pregnancy. But in multiple pregnancy, weight gain may be a little more than that because of the extra retention of the water in the mother, increased blood volume in the mother and because of the two fetuses where which both babies contribute to the weight of the mother"
How does Multiple Pregnancy occur? | Dr. Shobha Venkat
"Let’s try to understand how the multiple pregnancy or how the twin pregnancy is formed. We all know that the sperm unites with the egg and forms the zygote and the zygote keeps on multiplying and undergoes series or stages of the development and forms the embryo. So in twin pregnancy what happens is when there is two types of the twin pregnancy, one is the dizygotic twins and one is the monozygotic twin. Zygocity is refers to the number of eggs from which the baby is formed. So as the name itself indicates that if it is a dizygotic twins, there are two separate eggs that are fertilised by two separate sperms and each one developing into a separate embryo. So that is called as the dizygotic twins and which is common like they are more or less siblings and they may not be of the same sex and there will be having different blood groups and they will be having a different architecture of growth pattern and that is called as non identical twins or fraternal twins or the dizygotic twins and this is very common and this type of twins shows a varied pattern and the incidence of dizygotic twins is increasing because of the increase in pregnancy is happening because of the IVF treatment and also these type of twins show variation in terms of the maternal age and also the parity and also the geographic distribution and also the ethnicity . So these dizygotic twins are more common in women who are of the higher age group and in those women whom we call it as multiparous, those who have had many children and who have had a family history of twins, especially on the maternal side"

How will Multiple Pregnancy affect fetal growth? | Dr. Shobha Venkat
"Fetal growth restriction could be seen in multiple pregnancy because of pre-eclampsia problem there is a placental problem, there is a placental pathology and growth restriction is also more common in monochorioinic twins because of the vascular communication between the placenta and sharing of the blood supply by the two babies"
Are tests for genetic disorders accurate in Multiple Pregnancy?
"We screen all pregnancies at around 11 to 13 plus 6 weeks of gestation for what we call as the chromosomal abnormalities and the factors what we use for the screening is the maternal age and the scan what is called as the NT scan, which is done around this time, along with the biochemical test, what we call as a biochemical screening test. In twin pregnancy, the most accepted test for Downs is a combination of the maternal age and the NT scan, because the biochemical scan cannot alone be used because of the variation of the level of these markers in the twin pregnancy. However this can be included with the maternal age and the NT scan to increase the accuracy and one thing is under normal circumstances, that is the singleton pregnancies, the age limit or the risk of Down’s is about 35, whereas in twin pregnancy, it is a little early, about 32 to 33 years"
Can Multiple Pregnancy affect the risk of Postpartum Depression? | Dr. Shobha Venkat
"Multiple pregnancy can contribute little more increased incidence of post-partum blues or the depression, maybe because of the lactation problems or the lactational challenges and handling the two babies or the lack of rest, lack of sleep and also anaemia which makes them feel very tired. All these factors contribute to a kind of feeling low or the blues or depression"
