Dr. Lakshmi V

Dr. Lakshmi is highly regarded for her commitment to compassionate care for critically ill infants and children with complex medical conditions. Her specialized knowledge covers a broad range of neonatal and pediatric conditions, with a focus on critical care for infants with Breathing Disorders, Infections, Congenital Abnormalities, Complex Heart Conditions, Community-acquired Pneumonia, Acute Bronchiolitis, Acute Gastroenteritis, Febrile Seizures, Premature Birth Complications. She is proficient in managing Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) and has substantial experience handling high-risk deliveries and intensive neonatal resuscitation      She has  earned her MBBS from Vaidehi Institute of Medical Sciences in January 2009. This was followed by an MD in Paediatrics from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health and Sciences in 2013. Further to advance her knowledge of child health and care of little newborns, she completed a Fellowship in Neonatology from the Indian Academy of Paediatrics in 2017.

With advanced skills in invasive and non-invasive procedures she  is skilled in techniques such as endotracheal intubation, umbilical catheterization, and ventilator management.  her expertise also includes advanced ventilation techniques, such as high-frequency ventilation, intermittent positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV), and continuous positive airway pressure (NCPAP). She has managed critical cases requiring nitric oxide administration and cooling therapies for asphyxiated newborns.

• Beyond her clinical expertise she  advocates preventive pediatric care. She promotes immunization and proper nutrition to improve long-term health outcomes for infants and children. Her approach includes educating parents on preventive measures and managing common pediatric conditions such as pneumonia, acute bronchiolitis, and febrile seizures. She is adept at managing complex pediatric cases involving preoperative congenital heart diseases and postoperative care in collaboration with pediatric surgical teams.

She is an active member of multiple professional organizations, including the Bangalore Paediatric Society (BPS), the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP), and the National Neonatology Forum (NNF). Her commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in neonatology and pediatrics enables her to deliver evidence-based and patient-centric care.
