"Keeping the baby upright for 5 to 10 minutes. The milk from the food pipe will go into the tummy that will help the baby not to vomit, the milk will ensure the milk will stay in the tummy will be digested. Sometimes it happens that the baby doesn’t burp. It is not abnormal, not to worry about that. Keeping the baby upright will make sure that everything is done. After some time if baby becomes older what we can do is putting the baby on the firm flat surface, which is called as tummy time. That will help in making sure that the gases are passed. "Baby in the ICU can be breast fed. Usually from 34 to 36 weeks. Baby develops sucking swallowing reflex. Accordingly there are infant driven scales are available. We can plot the baby on the scale. Initially breast feeding is not started right away. It is started with the oral feeding and gradually transitioned to the breast feeding. Can be breast fed but requires patience as well as support from the lactation. Know how much baby is feeding and is there a stable weight gain normal feeding so this question needs to be answered before we start oral feeding"
How do I keep up with personal hygiene with a newborn? | Dr. Amit Jayasingrao Nigade
"First important thing is bathing for personal hygiene usually after birth, after 24 hours, bathing is done with lukewarm water, not adding any soap. Only by lukewarm water the bathing is done for a couple of days and then mild neutral pH soap is used. All baby soaps contain a mild neutral pH soap has been used. So all baby soaps contain mild neutral pH. So all baby soaps can be used for bathing. The second most important thing is changing of diapers regularly. So checking diapers if there is dirt present, not to keep them for the longer time. The third most important thing is the washing of their clothes. Washing of their clothes should be done with the soap as we as using a little bit of dettol in the water will help in killing the germs These are mainly the three cracks that will help in maintaining the personal hygiene of the baby. For the mother as well bathing regularly will be helpful, the second will be nipple care is most important because babies feeding through the breast . So nipple comes in frequent contact with the baby. So nipple care is washing them regularly, keeping it clean. That will help in ensuring good hygiene for the mother as well as the baby"
