We on Cloudnine salute all moms for their unbeatable courage. Cloudnine Bengaluru recently had the opportunity to host such a brave mother, protecting her baby against all odds. Mom Warrior Sunitha Raju. This Kannada speaking mom originally has her hometown in Bengaluru, and recently delivered a healthy baby on Cloudnine, under the supervision of Dr. Jyothsna Madan.
As Jane Sellman said, “The phrase ‘working mother’ is redundant.”
Sunitha is a stay-at-home mother who holds the fort at home for the whole family. Added to that, she has the responsibilities of being a new mother for the first time now. How does she manage it all? We had the opportunity to engage in a short conversation with her where she answered some of the questions that we had for her with utmost delight. We would like to share with you some excerpts from our conversation with the lovely Sunitha.
Sunitha: I got pregnant in July and my due date was on April 24th, 2020. Since this was my first pregnancy, my family and I were very happy and equally excited. Initially, I was consulting a doctor at a multi-speciality hospital. Towards the end of my pregnancy, around the 8th month, I had to go for a scan but unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, the hospital could not give me proper attention and moreover, my doctor was unavailable and going to a multi-speciality hospital during these times of need was not a choice we made.
However, we decided to go to Cloudnine, Bengaluru, since it is a maternity hospital specifically. I consulted Dr. Jyothsna Madan there, who is one of the best doctors in the country, with 35 years of experience. She is a gem of a person who treats you like she is one of your family members.
Sunitha: Doctors play the most important role when it comes to a smooth pregnancy. I was initially consulting a doctor at a multi-speciality hospital. However, circumstances were soon not feasible so I shifted to Cloudnine, Bangalore.
My doctor was Dr. Jyothsna Madan, and I was already acquainted with her, as she had previously delivered a relative’s baby. So I had full confidence in her, and the additional medical faculty on Cloudnine seemed very impressive, so I decided to deliver my baby on Cloudnine. Thank god that we chose to do that! I wish we’d have chosen Cloudnine earlier.
Sunitha: Due to the current situation, people all over the nation can see how Cloudnine took an initiative and went the extra mile to ensure that pregnant women are taken care of and that they stay safe and healthy.
During the lockdown, Cloudnine has provided the best facilities for the well-being of pregnant women and their children. They provided facilities like video consultations which allowed moms-to-be like me to avail consultation sessions sitting in the comfort of my home.
They also provided pick up and drop facility for the women who were unable to make trips to the hospital by themselves.
Along with this, they provided vaccinations at home for babies, which are something that was unique to Cloudnine; no other hospital was providing this service.
Apart from the services that Sunitha has mentioned, Cloudnine also provides a number of other facilities during this lockdown, such as a variety of online classes for new moms and moms-to-be, and collection of samples from home for lab testing, among others.
Sunitha: Cloudnine has the best medical fraternity! The doctors are very friendly and they create such a comfortable environment for us. Personally, my doctor, Dr, Jyothsna Madan and I go back a long way. She had delivered my sister-in-law’s baby earlier, and now mine. I was consulting a different doctor at a multi-speciality hospital until I was 8 months pregnant. However, with the ongoing pandemic, continuing with a multi-speciality hospital was something I’d completely avoid.
Therefore, once the situation took a turn for the worse, I decided to go to Cloudnine, as it is especially a maternity and children care hospital. The doctors and support staff on Cloudnine were very attentive and cared like a mother. In the end, all I felt was that I had made the right choice and wished that I had come here earlier.
Sunitha: To all the pregnant ladies and mommies-to-be on Cloudnine, I would just like to remind you that although situations may seem bad now, they will not remain like this forever. So the best thing that you can do is not be scared. Try to stay positive and stay safe for the new family that you are creating. Cloudnine will take care of the rest!
